QUICK TIP: Use Adobe Audition’s “de-reverb” effect to reduce noise

tldr;

  • Adobe Audition’s built-in de-reverb effect (in the Noise Reduction menu) offers mild noise reduction for free while reducing unwanted room reflections.
  • With a mild setting of 25%, I got about 10db of noise reduction. After restoring volume, it was more like 5db.
  • Third-party reverb plug-ins like Zynaptiq Unveil and Crumple Pop Echo Remover II don’t have this same side benefit.
